How to Register for the GRE Exam? (online)

Here is the step-by-step detailed process for GRE examination registration.

Step 1 - Create an ETS Account

Candidates can start by creating an ETS account. Those who already have an ETS account can ignore this step.

  • Visit the ETS GRE official website at ets.org/myGRE
  • Under New Users, click on the “Create an Account” button
  • The candidate will be redirected to a registration form.
  • Fill in personal, address, phone number, and communication details in the GRE application form
  • Enter a new username and password for the account
  • Submit.

Step 2 - Login and Register

Candidates can proceed to book the GRE test dates by logging into the ETS account. As the account is created, proceed to choose the suitable GRE date and centre.

  • Log in to your ETS account.
  • Select the register option.
  • Choose the type of GRE test: GRE General/Subject test.
  • Select the test centre option and enter the city location.
  • Pick a suitable two-month period, and all the GRE registration dates and test centres available in that location will appear on the screen.

GRE Test Registration 2024 - For Disabled Candidates

Candidates who have physical disabilities or any other health issues may also register for the GRE. The ETS extends services and reasonable accommodations that are appropriate and given the purpose of the test. The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) Subject Tests will be administered globally during the following exam window in 2024:

The registration dates for the GRE general test are available around the year and are allotted on a first-come and first-serve basis.
